PROJECT OVERVIEW

Distributed-Accountability Project Management for the AI Era

MOTH Teams is an enterprise project delivery system built for teams that can’t afford the paperwork-heavy, blame-dodging dynamics of traditional methodologies while the ground shifts under them every few months. It replaces PRINCE2/PMP-style documentation overhead with three working sheets — rolling deliverables, real risks and issues, and a control sheet — reviewed every few days, not every few weeks. (Not to be confused with MOTH, the personal productivity method — this is the team/enterprise system.)

PACER + MOTH Teams: The Protocol and the Practice

AI governance can’t stay theoretical while the technology moves in six-month leaps. PACER is the protocol — a framework for how humans and AI systems govern the transition together. MOTH Teams is the practice — the delivery system that lets the people building this future keep pace with it, without drowning in paperwork or dodging blame when the ground shifts under them.

One tells you what the terms of the contract should be. The other makes sure your team can actually deliver on it.

Deliverables

  • Four-quadrant team structure (Momentum, Organise, Transform, Harmonise) with defined cross-quadrant reporting.
  • A minimal three-document cadence replacing traditional project documentation

FEATURES

  • Distributed accountability: each quadrant leader reports on what they expected from others vs. received, and what others expected from them vs. gave — nobody reports on their own performance
  • Rolling deliverables sheet that gives scope creep an explicit seat at the table instead of pretending it won’t happen
  • Harmonise phase acts as a built-in Kaizen checkpoint, so each cycle improves rather than the traditional start-fast-grind-to-a-halt pattern

    BENEFITS

    • Removes the structural incentive for finger-pointing by making mutual accountability the default, not individual defensiveness
    • Cuts documentation to what’s actually read and used, freeing teams to respond when a new model or shift in the landscape changes the brief overnight
    • Built from 25 years of real delivery experience across PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, and Waterfall — designed to fix what those methodologies structurally can’t

      CHALLENGES

      • Requires genuine buy-in to the “nobody reports on themselves” model, which is a cultural shift for teams used to individual accountability
      • Works best with members who can flex across quadrants — rigid, siloed team structures may need adjustment first
      • Still needs real-world case studies at scale to demonstrate results beyond the founding methodology
